Osteopathic Manual Therapists

Christal Geier headshot

Christal Geier D.O.M.P, CAT(C), B.Kin

Christal grew up in a small farming community in Southern Saskatchewan. As an avid athlete with her share of injuries, she had little assistance from the medical profession available to her in her small town so decided to study Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal College. She wanted not only to understand what was wrong and how to recover but how to prevent injuries in the first place.  She believes rural communities should have access to therapies typically offered only in the city.

Through college she was able to continue with her athletics; both as a competitor and as a therapist. She was a gold medalist Badminton player at MRC and she was able to be on the side lines of many of her favorite sports (including football, hockey, baseball and volleyball) as well as sports she had little experience with (such as field hockey, basketball and judo) throughout university.

After completing her Athletic Therapy diploma from MRC and her Kinesiology degree at the U of C, she continued to work with hockey in both the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Heritage Junior B Hockey League and the Women’s Western Hockey League.

Christal worked as an Athletic Therapist in private practice until requiring knee surgery. At this time, she started to work part-time in the insurance world, primarily working with clients who suffered from injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents. Shortly thereafter, she made the shift into full-time work with an insurance company in the rehabilitation department helping those on long term disability recover and return to work.

This work led her to realize one important flaw. There is a group of people in no-man’s land. People who have pain but no apparent reason for it. People who have inconclusive or negative findings in blood work or diagnostic tests. According to medicine and the insurance world, nothing is wrong with them.  Thus the common reasons for their pain was malfunctions in their pain system in cases of chronic pain, psychosomatic (all in their head) or fraudulent claims.

The other two reasons made little sense. There had to be another explanation.

Christal had learned what she could in the insurance world and was anxious to get back into helping people directly in a clinical setting. After losing her mom to Cancer and her grandmother 6 months later, she learned life was just too short not to be doing what you were meant to do. But the question remained on how to help the population with unexplained pain – she needed to find a solution.

After research into various educational options she found osteopathic manual therapy. A method to understand in more detail the anatomy of the human body and how all parts were interrelated. A method to understand WHY people had pain. She started her osteopathic studies in 2006 at the Canadian College of Osteopathy Vancouver Campus (now called the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice). She returned to private practice in 2007.

Christal graduated after completing her thesis on vestibular disturbances in the post concussed active population. She continues to be a certified Athletic Therapist and has continued post graduate studies in endocranial spasm work, psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology, emotional work within the fluids, mechanical link, neuro-kinetic therapy, and energetic work through the medicine wheel.

In January 2019 she opened Take Flight Osteopathic Wellness with the goal of bringing hope to people who feared they’d have to live with the pain for the rest of their lives. To help you, your performance and Life Take Flight.

Corentin's headshot<br />

Corentin Rey D.O.M.P

Corentin grew up in Saint-Chamas, a small town in the South of France near Marseille. As a sports enthusiast, particularly fond of skiing, volleyball, and swimming, Corentin experienced his own share of injuries, which sparked his interest in osteopathic care.

Preferring to avoid medication, he became dedicated to understanding not only how to treat injuries but also how to prevent them effectively. His passion for helping people without the use of drugs led him to study osteopathy at the Osteopathic Institute of Avignon in France.

Throughout his journey, he has combined his love for sports with his osteopathic expertise and understanding of the human body, working in Chamonix with athletes and independently in rural areas of France. His experience as both an athlete and osteopathic manual therapist give him unique insight into the needs of athletes as well as everyday clients.

Corentin arrived in Canada in September 2024, eager to put his skills into practice in rural Alberta.

L. Jaye Fisher Stronghold Massage Therapy

L Jaye Fisher, Stronghold Massage Therapy

  • Registered Massage Therapist, Graduated from Mount Royal University in 2002 (with Honours)
  • YT200 (trained by Yvonne Werkmann)
  • Reiki Master
  • SuperPatch VoxxLife Independent Healthcare Professional Distributor

Jaye came to the massage therapy profession as an equestrian athlete dealing with injuries in herself and her horses, looking to understand the how/why of rehabilitation. Moving forward, it was that lifelong love of horses that gave her a strong background in the training of classical dressage, for both horse and rider. Early on, she recognized its parallels to the yoga she did as a hobby, so she completed a teacher training program. This pairing has given Jaye a unique perspective on the aims of massage therapy.

By focusing on balancing the musculature to improve function, and using predominantly gentle techniques developed over 22+ years in practice, she is able to perform deep tissue therapy with minimal discomfort.

With a particular specialization in whiplash/cervical strain and repetitive strain recovery, together with her desire to collaborate with other practitioners enables her to achieve success with complex cases. Jaye utilizes multiple modalities in the course of treatment, including kinesiology taping, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, positional release, lymphatic drainage, and is always adding “more tools to her toolbox.”

That commitment to education, both for herself and her clients, has helped Jaye form a multi-layered approach. She believes that when a client understands what is happening in their body, they are more motivated to dedicate themselves to a course of treatment. Next, using feedback from the client themselves, Jaye directs the hands-on therapy with focus on improving and restoring function. Finally, she will suggest movements, exercises, and/or lifestyle adjustments to complement and augment the treatment. This deepens her relationship with the client to better serve their needs and goals for a more functional future.

Appointments available by referral only.

Sound Wellness

Natalie Stuber

Natalie Stuber
500hr YT, Certified Sound Wellness practitioner.

I was first introduced to yoga about 10 years ago after sustaining an injury at work. What I found was completely unexpected, but very much welcomed. I was able to find relief from my pain and found a deep sense of relaxation which also aided in the management of my autoimmune disorder. I have found that coming back to my mat time and time again gave me the permission I needed to take time out for myself. Yoga has affected my life in ways that I never imagined possible. So much so, that I was moved to take my 200hr yoga teacher training. I have since gone on to take my 300hr training as well. This journey has led me to seek out alternative ways of creating calm in the body and the mind. I have recently earned my certification as a Sound Wellness Practioner. There are so many facets to both Yoga and Sound Wellness that I will forever be a student of both practices and will always be willing to share my knowledge with anyone that is interested or in need.

Naturopathic Wellness, Prolotherapy

Natalie Stuber

Dr Walter Fernyhough, ND

I was born in Northern Saskatchewan, then was moved to BC at 3 months of age. Growing up in Richmond, BC I was signed up for field hockey at a young age, which I stayed with until my early 20s. I loved sports and played school rugby, football, and volleyball. At a young age I also played badminton, and wasn’t too bad as I recall. I may have to challenge Christal to a game one of these days!

I worked in construction in my 20s and early 30s before going back to school to learn naturopathic medicine. After obtaining 3 years of university, I qualified to attend the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. I returned to BC to finish the last two years of my medical school training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. I graduated in 2007 and got my BC naturopathic license the same year.

I moved to Alberta in July of 2024 after 15 years of running my own naturopathic clinic in Abbotsford, BC. During this time, I doctored for a Junior A and a Junior B hockey team. The first year I was with the Junior B team (the Pilots), we won the western championships.

As a licensed naturopathic doctor I am trained as a primary care physician in western medicine, which means being familiar with all types of western diagnosis and treatment.
I was also trained in Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture), modified chiropractic, and homeopathy. Even though I do not use Chinese medicine and chiropractic manipulation in practice, I am glad I learned them so I can understand their strengths and weaknesses for my patients who
are experiencing, or wanting to experience, these modalities.

The majority of my practice involves treating hormone imbalances , including sex hormones (male and female), thyroid hormones, adrenal hormones, and growth hormone. I also work a lot with musculoskeletal issues, chronic and acute infections, skin issues, toxicity issues (including heavy metals), and cardiovascular issues. I have extensive experience in prolotherapy, naturopathic injections, ozone therapies, chelation
therapies, and IV therapies, and was certified to prescribe pharmaceutical medications in BC, which is not yet permitted under an Alberta license.

Live Blood Analysis, Epigenetic Hair Testing

Natalie Stuber

Lisa Pittet

Growing up on a farm in Saskatchewan, I learned the core values of community, wholesome food, and natural health from a young age. Those early lessons shaped a lifelong belief in the body’s inherent ability to heal itself, provided it is nurtured with the right tools and supported in addressing the root causes of health challenges, rather than merely masking symptoms.

With a deep commitment for wellness, I have spent my adult life dedicated to helping others achieve optimal health and wellness. My passion for learning and growth and helping people heal led me to train as a Live Blood Analyst 3 1/2 years ago. Adding this skill to my repertoire has provided invaluable insights into the health of one’s terrain and allows one to get at the heart of what is going on in the body. Since my initial training as a live blood analyst, I have furthered my expertise with an Advanced Blood Microscopy and Therapeutics certification, and specialized training with a renowned doctor from South Africa.

Understanding the complexities of the human body is an ongoing journey, and I embrace continuous learning to provide the best support for my clients. As a mother of six, I take a personal and compassionate approach to wellness, forming strong partnerships with those I work with and offering not just guidance, but encouragement and cheer along their healing paths.

I see every individual as unique, honoring the interconnectedness of the spirit, soul, and body. In my practice, I recognize the profound power within each drop of blood, viewing it as a window into each person’s story. I work alongside my clients to create a comprehensive healing plan tailored to their individual needs—one that supports their health at the cellular level and takes into account the full scope of their well-being.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that everyone is meant to live long, healthy, and abundant lives. It is an honor to assist my clients in unlocking their fullest potential and walking alongside them as they achieve greater wellness.

I invite you to connect with me to explore how we can work together to achieve your wellness goals.

Midwifery

Natalie Stuber

Kate Kennedy – Midwifery

My name is Kate Kennedy, and I am thrilled to join you on your pregnancy journey. I began my own journey towards becoming a midwife in 2007, when my first daughter was born into the hands of midwives. The entire pregnancy and birth helped me realize that people can be better served in a maternity care system when caregivers listen to clients and present them with the information they need to make decisions that are right for them and their families. This felt revolutionary to me at that time, and it was the first time I had ever considered a career in a medical field.
By the time my second daughter was born in our bedroom while her sister slept, I was sure I wanted to be a midwife and help other families experience the warm, competent, relationship focused care that I had received. I knew it would be difficult to go back to school with young babies, so I enjoyed my time as a mother and the owner of my own landscaping business, while I volunteered and sat on the board
of local parenting and birth related non-profits. I have collected thousands of birth stories, and I can see the patterns that develop in parenthood that
stem back to feeling empowered and supported in birth~or not! Now that my children (and their long time friends) are in the teen phase, I understand how finding a supportive village makes a huge difference in our long-term relationship with our children.

My passions lie in holistic care. Outside of my midwifery schooling, I have studied parenting and infant communication, natural systems of healing such as herbalism and homeopathy, positioning and rebozo work in pregnancy and birth, as well as the human gut biome. I graduated in the spring of 2020 from Mount Royal University’s Bachelor of Midwifery program. Additionally, I have completed workshops in “Spinning Babies”, rebozo, homeopathy and attachment parenting, and took specialized training in physiologic vaginal breech birth through the University of British Columbia, as well as the “Breech without Borders” training. My philosophy of birth is that it is a beautiful, transformative rite of passage, that only occasionally requires emergency skills. I am there to walk beside you on your journey, and while my job is to explain to you the options and the evidence behind them, your job is to choose what is right for you, your baby and your family.

When I’m not busy catching babies and supporting clients, I enjoy spending time with my children, our many pets, and growing as many vegetables, fruit and flowers that I possibly can in our short season. I love spending time in nature, having long chatty dinners out with friends, as well as cooking, canning and eating delicious food at home. Having grown up in Sundre, I love practicing in Central Alberta. I look forward to meeting you and being your midwife!

Sincerely,

Kate Kennedy

Healing Touch

Michelle Esau  HTP

As a Mom, Wife and friend with a love for small town living, I’m grateful to call Linden, Alberta home.  Having been raised here, it felt only natural to raise my own family in the same close-knit community. While my children were growing up, I worked locally and part time, which allowed me to develop my quilting skills at the local quilt shop-a creative and relaxing outlet that continues to bring me joy and connection with friends.

After facing heath challenges, I began to recognize the limitations of conventional/ western medicine and began exploring alternative and complementary approaches. Through this journey, I discovered the profound benefits of Healing Touch and Osteopathy to name a few of the modalities I have tried. The relief and balance I have found through these modalities inspired me to share them with others seeking gentle, non-invasive support for their own balance relief and holistic wellness.

Healing Touch has truly been a game changer in my life. I completed the Healing Touch Program’s Fast Track online training, achieving level 5 and becoming a practitioner in May of 2025. I am currently working toward full certification with-in the program’s guidelines. With over 3 years of experience and more than 300 documented Healing Touch session over seen by my mentor, I am honoured to offer this heart – centered energy therapy to my community.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you experience the benefits of Healing Touch for yourself.

You can book a session with me by calling 403-826-3249.
